French Grammar Lab

Open Grammar Lab

This semester, there we are offering an Open Grammar Lab to all French students. It is meant to give targeted grammar instruction to those who come with specific questions.

Please note: This lab does not have structured instruction and will not count as the required lab for FRNE 321 students (please see description of FREN 321 Grammar Lab).

Location: JFSB 1131-A
Times:

  • Monday 9:00am - 9:50am
  • Wednesday 9:00am - 9:50am
  • Thursday 5:00pm - 5:50pm

FREN 321 Grammar Lab

The Grammar Lab is a specialized resource built into the following courses:

  • FREN 321 (Advanced French, Part 1)
  • FREN 322 (Advanced French, Part 2)

The lab is designed to help students master advanced language concepts. When you sign up for FREN 321 or FREN 322, you must add a lecture section AND a grammar lab section to your schedule. Lecture sections of FREN 321 and FREN 322 meet either on MWF or TTh, while grammar lab sections are only held one day a week.

Each student must attend one grammar lab per week starting after the add/drop deadline. Grammar lab assistants record attendance and participation in lab sessions and report them to instructors to count towards your overall grade in FREN 321 and FREN 322.

Each lab session is limited to a maximum of 12 students so that the grammar lab assistants can focus on targeted needs. It is therefore strongly recommended that students come to the lab with specific questions. The lab assistant is there to answer your questions and to provide you with additional exercises to practice grammar skills according to your needs. The grammar lab is also a good place to practice your speaking skills.
